Art has always been part of my life. I started drawing at a young age both from life and using images from magazines to learn portraiture. Although my life took a divergent path, I have come back to my art in the last few years. I’ve been taking classes in drawing, color, and composition as well as both oil and watercolor both from the local colleges - College of San Mateo & Skyline College and Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier.
I enjoy oil painting for the texture and vibrancy of the paints which allow me to capture color and interpret the feeling I get from the subject I’ve chosen. In the last couple of years I’ve also found a great peacefulness in working with watercolor, learning to direct the movement of the paint as it dries to express the depth within the layers of paint.
